A Fortaleza San Felipe e uma fortaleza colonial espanhola do seculo XVI construida em 1577 sobre um promontorio rochoso voltado para o Oceano Atlantico em Puerto Plata. E a mais antiga estrutura militar europeia ainda de pe no Novo Mundo e abriga um pequeno museu com canhoes, armas e objetos da epoca colonial. Situada no fim do Malecon, e o monumento obrigatorio de qualquer city tour por Puerto Plata.
